Flying Lessons in Exeter-What to Expect

by | Jun 9, 2023 | Flight School

You have finally decided that you are going to take those flying lessons in Exeter to fulfil your dream of becoming a pilot! What’s next? Most people realize that there will be some formal training where instruments are learned and there will be some flight time in the air but beyond that they are unsure of what their flying lessons in Exeter will entail.

Here is What You Should Know

One of the most frequent questions that people have about flying lessons is how long does it take for me to get my pilot’s license. The answer to that really depends on what you plan on doing with your license. If you plan on using it in the aviation industry than the instruction will take longer than if you plan on flying a small Cessna for pleasure. You should plan on taking about a year (not of constant study) to complete your instruction. Of course, the next question is why should I plan on taking a year. That answer is a multi-layered answer:

1. Most people cannot devote 60 hours in a row to flying lessons, they must break it up over a period of time because they have other obligations in life. Besides what’s the rush?

2. There are other factors that will affect the time you spend in the training. Weather is a big factor, students cannot go up in severe weather.

3. Most people find that breaking up the lessons are more affordable.

Plan on spending 6 months to a year to get your license to be on the safe side. If you have the money and the time you could conceivably get your license qualifications out of the way in a few weeks.
